Special Event Sponsorship
How to Apply For Special Event Sponsorship from the DWBIAAt the DWBIA, we want to encourage as many community events as possible in Downtown Windsor. Every year, the Marketing Committee oversees the distribution of a limited pool of funds to worthy downtown events. To apply for Special Event Sponsorship, please read all the criteria below, then
fill out our online form.While we would like to support every event that takes place in our core, we do not have the financial resources to do so. With that in mind, we have established these guidelines and application instructions.
Are You Eligible for DWBIA Funding?Only certified charities and non-profit groups will be considered for DWBIA Event Sponsorship.
The DWBIA
does not distribute funds to individuals.
The sponsorship amount is subject to the DWBIA’s Marketing Committee’s discretion, and has been capped at $500 per event.
Your downtown event must:
Take place within the current boundaries of the DWBIA Promote the downtown/city centre Create foot traffic in the downtown coreEvent Sponsorship Request ProceduresThe DWBIA distributes funds throughout the year, until the funds are exhausted.
Your Event Sponsorship Proposal must include:
Name of OrganizationEvent Outline including time and place, organizing team/individual, event objectives, event activitiesList of additional event partners/sponsorship requestsBenefits to the DWBIAEvent marketing plan (brief)Requested dollar amount of supportRequested in-kind sponsorship involvementAll Event Sponsorship Proposals must be submitted to the DWBIA by mail/hand delivery/e-mail as follows:

How We Judge Your ProposalYour proposal will be reviewed by the DWBIA’s Marketing Committee.
Notification of Event Sponsorship Decisions will be sent to all applicants as soon as possible.
Funds will be released at the discretion of the DWBIA.
The organizer must provide a wrap up report within two months of the event detailing attendance, media coverage and DWBIA exposure.The organizer will provide
digital photos of the event for use in future DWBIA promotions and publications.
In Kind SponsorshipIn lieu of cash, and upon approval of the Marketing Committee, the DWBIA can provide the following in-kind sponsorship elements
Coverage in the Downtown Windsor Blog (downtownwo.com)Group email publicizing event to over 650 DWBIA membersMedia release to our exclusive listFacebook announcement to the DWBIA GroupTwitter message broadcastsEvent listing on the home page of the DWBIA website (downtownwindsor.ca)Information must be provided to the DWBIA in a format ready for distribution.Flyer and poster distribution to DWBIA members and at DWBIA officeNote: The DWBIA is not responsible for graphic design and advertisement development.
