The Downtown Windsor BIA understands the importance of giving residents, students and visitors the opportunity to discover and explore the city centre’s dynamic arts and cultural scene. The city’s epicentre is immersed in creativity and innovation, and boasts a diverse wealth of culture — from visual to cinematic arts; performing to literary arts; music to museums; heritage to culinary; and festivals to events.
Drop in at Artcite and the Broken City Lab and browse the works of local artists. Visit the Art Gallery of Windsor and view the significant works of art by local, regional and national artists; or stroll down Maiden Lane and check out the dynamic and exciting Free 4 All Walls graffiti art project.
Check out the local music scene at Phog Lounge, FM Lounge; Carparelli Sound Lounge and Milk Coffee Bar; or take in one of Windsor Symphony Orchestra’s stellar performances. From Masterworks to Pops, Bach to Broadway, the Windsor Symphony Orchestra engages, entertains and inspires its audiences.
The city centre also houses theatrical and entertainment venues including the Colosseum at Caesars Windsor; the Chrysler Theatre and The Capitol Theatre. We’ve played host to award-winning and world-class artists and performers across all genres of music, dance, comedy and more, including Lionel Ritchie; Tom Jones; Journey; Pet Shop Boys; Trisha Yearwood; and Comedians Daryl Hall and John Oates, Russell Peters, John Pinette and Bill Mayer.
The theatrical venues also play home to the leading local performing arts and dance companies including Windsor Light Music Theatre, Cardinal Music Productions, Windsor Classic Chorale, Windsor Dance eXPerience, the Dance Barre, to name but a few.
