Join us for an evening of original contemporary jazz compositions by local trumpeter, Austin Di Pietro. Titled “BORDERS,” this concert explores the influence of residing in a border region and the power of art and music to transcend physical and metaphorical boundaries.
The show will feature an international band comprised of some of the finest musicians in Windsor and Southeast Michigan, as well as an exciting and thought-provoking program of original music inspired by living in one of the world’s most unique border regions. Austin’s compositions span a variety of genres, and are heavily influenced by funk and Latin jazz styles. Be the first to hear them in one of Windsor’s most beautiful concert halls!
This concert is generously funded by the Windsor Endowment for the Arts. Their support aided with research and study on transborder, transnational and border issues, and supported the development of new compositions.
