Philippine Independence Day Fiesta 2025
June 21, 2025 – Windsor, Ontario
Sponsorship Information Package

This June 21, 2025, Windsor, Ontario will witness the inaugural Philippines Independence Day Fiesta—the first of its kind in the region. A groundbreaking celebration of Filipino pride, culture, food, and unity, this event will gather communities from Windsor, the surrounding areas, and across the border from Detroit to honour our shared heritage. Now, more than ever, is the time to come together and celebrate the strength, beauty, and resilience of the Filipino community in Canada.

This historic event is led by Jarmina Weatherspoon, founder of Events and Spoons, and a powerhouse in Windsor’s event and cultural landscape. With over 100 successful events produced, Jarmina is widely recognized for setting trends in event themes, marketing, and production quality. From luxury galas to vibrant night markets, she’s brought Windsor everything from the Wanderlust Night Market to landmark community celebrations. A St. Clair College alumna in Public Relations, Event Management, Marketing, and Advertising, Jarmina also holds a degree in Interior and Graphic Design. Her work has been featured on CBC, CTV, and Blackburn Radio. Her very first pop-up event—covered by CTV—set the tone for a series of successful, culturally rooted initiatives that continue to grow.

She is the heart behind Windsor’s largest free Easter event, now celebrating its 12th year, and the long-running Back-to-School Drive which provides support and joy to hundreds of families each year.

Jarmina has also been the driving force behind several well-known brands and social media campaigns in Windsor, including Soul by Mr. Spoon. She has supported and guided numerous small businesses across the city. Her work extends to political campaigns as well, having been part of a national-level federal campaign team in Toronto.

The event is co-owned by Patrick Weatherspoon Jr., a graduate of the Public Relations program at St. Clair College and currently a Communications major at the University of Windsor. Patrick also works for the university’s social media department, helping guide student engagement and digital strategy. Raised in the heart of community events, Patrick has played key roles in many past initiatives. He has been featured in both The Drive Magazine and BizX Magazine for his early entrepreneurship. As the owner of Spontastic Treats and InaSoul, Patrick proudly represents the next generation of Black American Filipino business leaders in Windsor.

This event is also supported by the Filipino student associations at the University of Windsor and St. Clair College, and the national Filipino basketball team based in Toronto.

With your help, we can take the necessary precautions to ensure the safety and success of our event, making it a secure and positive experience for everyone involved.
