The Cell Engineer – High Voltage Battery System (HVBS) is responsible for developing advanced automotive battery cells for hybrid and electric vehicle applications. Responsibilities include: Managing lithium ion cell product development for the FCA/Stellantis portfolio of hybrid and electric vehicles from specifications to production Being the Point of Contact between FCA/Stellantis and Tier 1 lithium ion cell manufactures for production programs Plan and execute cell product development with tier 1 suppliers including DFMEA, DVP&R and supporting PPAP Manage battery life modeling and prediction Conduct production assessments of lithium ion battery manufacturing facilities Be a member of cross function team supporting battery pack design and release engineering FCA Canada Inc. is committed to providing accommodation for people with accessibility needs due to disabilities in all aspects of the hiring process. Basic Qualifications: MS in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or Equivalent Understanding of energy storage systems and vehicle electrification Good Analytical and Problem Solving Skills Familiar with EV and HEV Highly Motivated and a Self-Starter DVP&R and DFMEA Knowledge Demonstrated Ability to Work in a Team Environment Legally eligible to work in Canada Preferred Qualifications: PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or Equivalent Minimum FIVE (5) years’ experience in of product development and/or process development for Lithium Ion Batteries Understanding of process development for lithium ion batteries including: manufacturing for mixing and coating of electrode films Demonstrated experience working directly with battery supply base Experience with PPAP process Excellent quality, manufacturing and product assurance planning skills Ability to resolve conflicting requirements across multiple organizations Possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills Working understanding of PFMEA, DFMEA, and DVP&R Familiar with FEA, CAE, and CFD, and thermal analytical tools Good communication, problem solving, computer and presentation skills Stellantis
