In addition, we help Ontarians find jobs in construction with diverse companies. Our member company, servicing Windsor, Ontario, is hiring for a 306A Journeyperson Plumber. Job Responsibilities A Journeypersons’ primary function is to support the needs of the project as identified by the Field Manager or a Journeyperson 2. Responsible for the execution of trade work in a safe, professional, and efficient manner. Responsible to train and support Apprentices, or another Journeyperson(s) as directed by their supervisor. Plumbing, pipe fitting, cutting, coring, digging and trenching, measuring, layout, paperwork, and other similar tasks. Performance Expectations General Expectations: In addition to the Safety Training provided by the company, will proactively continue to learn and understand the requirements of Health and Safety legislation and safety policies through recommended reading provided by HR. Continually reviews and understands their duties as “Supervisor” in the context of the Ontario Ministry of Labour legislation. Acts to warn or rectify any unsafe conditions. Supervises other Apprentices or Journeypersons when directed, in a manner consistent with Ministry of Labour and requirements. Is punctual and flexible with respect to the project requirements. Review, understand, and follow all policies. Work with, and maintain, positive working relationships with fellow employees, and management. Position Specific Expectations: Work can be carried out at various locations including construction sites, owner facilities, tenant facilities, and within facilities. Receive and carry out work based on general instructions from their Supervisor. Ask questions to ensure they fully understand the scope prior to starting the work. Concentrate on their work and ensure it is executed in a safe and professional manner, taking into account the safety of their helper(s) or other trades around them. Deliver professional quality work consistent with their Trade and within the allotted time frame defined by their Supervisor. Provide technical guidance to those with less experience in a professional manner. Ensure that all necessary administrative and project-related paperwork is being filled out accurately and in a timely fashion. Communicate with other trades and the client to ensure smooth coordination of the work. Proactively continue to upgrade trade skills, and technical understanding of building systems. Benefits: To be determined by the employer Job Skills & Qualifications Required: Completed 306A Plumbing Apprenticeship, and Red Seal Certification in the 306A Trade. Proficiency with the National Plumbing Code and local codes. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Preferred: WHIMIS Certificate. Working at Heights.
