Job Summary Reporting to the Assistant Manager of Public Areas, Windsor Casino Limited, the Facilities Supervisor supervises the work of the facilities staff and ensures work is completed in accordance with assigned standards. Roles and Responsibilities Trains, develops, orientates, evaluates, supervises and disciplines new and existing staff. Ensures compliance with departmental policies/procedures and service guarantees and shapes guest relations by resolving complaints and ensuring guest satisfaction. Ensures standards of operation are consistently met and maintained, and makes notation of any deficiencies and/or Health and Safety concerns. Monitors employees assigned to ensure consistent productivity. Takes necessary action to ensure that all assigned areas are cleaned and maintained to the department standards. Attends and conducts communication meetings with management and staff. Conducts spot checks and inspects all areas of responsibility to ensure department standards and performance standards are being maintained. Conducts pre-shift meetings, directs the work force, provides support to staff and delegates job duties. Checks all cleaning aids and equipment to ensure that they are in proper working condition and are in compliance with the company's safety requirements. Liaises with the Engineering department, completing work requisitions and communicating and resolving problems. Communicates with Public Areas Supervisors at shift change to discuss issues concerning work assignments and occurrences, resolve problems and ensuring continuity of operations. Liaises with contractors to coordinate projects such as window and chandelier cleaning and floor care. Completes and/or verifies a variety of documents including sign in sheets, purchase requisitions and work requisitions. Confirms and verifies hours of work using the automated payroll system and maintains/tracks payroll information and personnel attendance records. Complies with Windsor Casino Limited policies and procedures. Performs any and all related tasks as assigned by management. Upholds the highest standard of internal and external customer service at all times. Qualifications Equivalent to a High School Diploma. Minimum one year supervisory experience in a casino/hospitality environment related to Public Housekeeping or experience deemed acceptable by Windsor Casino Limited. Knowledge of carpet, floor care, chemicals and chemical handling as well as equipment. Knowledge of word processing applications, spread-sheeting applications, industry related software applications and e-mail applications. Ability to obtain a Employee Gaming License. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Physical Demands: Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is occasionally required. (i.e. between 5% and 25% of time on the job) Must possess a good attendance record as stipulated in the Casino Windsor Non-Union Management policy. Anyone with over 5 occurrences will not be considered.
