The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all vendor invoices are paid on a timely basis, in order to provide an accurate account of the company’s payable liability. This role pays the respective vendors on a predetermined payment schedule and addresses vendor and other co-workers’ inquiries regarding payments. What You Will Get from the Role: A continuous learning environment that develops your individual career goals A continuous improvement environment where all ideas are explored Engaged coaches and mentors who will provide guidance but also allow autonomy Team atmosphere Support of professional memberships and certifications Standard Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, 40 hours per week Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Ensuring all invoices are processed and paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures Other accounting duties pertinent to the role such as general ledger reconciliation and payables reconciliation Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors Performing bank and credit card reconciliations Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges Perform other duties assigned by the reporting manager What You Need to be Successful in the Role: College diploma in accounting Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products and strong computer skills Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience Good communication skills dealing with external and internal customers Attention to detail and accuracy Good organizational skills Willingness to learn Effective problem-solving ability Good time management skills Customer service focus If you are looking to join a premier transportation company and become an integral part of results-oriented team who constantly challenge themselves for our customers and for each other, the role of Accounts Payable Specialist may be right for you.
