York Property Management is hiring for a Leasing Agent and Property Assistant at 2609 Meadowbrook Lane in Windsor. The Leasing Agent is primarily responsible for showing apartments to prospective tenants, completing Rental Applications with interested prospects and inspecting apartments to determine whether they are ready for occupancy. In addition, the Leasing Agent is responsible for delivering paperwork to current tenants and collecting rent payments and other correspondence from drop slots within each building. This position works in collaboration with the Property Administrator and reports to the Site Manager. Leasing Apartments Respond to inquiries from prospective tenants in person, via email, and over the phone in a prompt and courteous manner Assess prospect’s needs and provide information about buildings, units, amenities, shopping and schools nearby, as well as rental price, utilities and terms of lease. Schedule and attend appointments to show units Show vacant and occupied apartments and townhomes to interested prospects. Complete Rental Applications Sign Tenancy Agreements (leases) Move in new residents to provide keys and Welcome Packages and answer any questions about the unit and/or building Maintain relationships with current residents and relay tenant issues and complaints to the Property Administrator Report required repairs within the buildings to the maintenance department Represent the company in a friendly and positive manner Inspections Complete Move In Inspections with new residents Take photos when completing inspections and upload them to property management software Document maintenance required for turnover of unit and communicate to the maintenance department Collection and Delivery Deliver letters, notices and forms to current tenants Post notices in the buildings Regularly check drop boxes at buildings Open doors for cable and internet technicians and contractors Administration Track and record prospect inquiries and submit report to Head Office on a weekly basis Maintain Vacancy Report and Move In/Move Out Schedules Priorities change regularly in this position and the candidate must be flexible and willing to change roles and responsibilities as required. Skills and Qualifications A minimum of one years of residential property management experience is required Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act (preferred) Computer proficiency and the ability to learn property management software A minimum of one year of experience in property management and/or administration (preferred) Customer service and public speaking skills and experience Verbal and written communication skills and the ability to produce accurate documentation Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to maintain lasting relationships with tenants and staff members Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision Negotiation and decision-making skills Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and to maintain a high level of confidentiality A valid Driver’s License and access to a personal reliable vehicle is mandatory for this position About us: York Property Management (YPM) manages 3,500+ residential apartment suites in Southwestern Ontario.
