Equivalent Experience Overview: For the last 25 years we’ve partnered with this major automotive manufacturer (OEM), this specific role will be supporting their substantial investments to develop their future line of electric and hybrid-electric vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a major automotive OEM, and get involved with the development of electric vehicles (EV). This role will be on open-ended contract with the role expected to be indefinite. This program is specifically expected to go on for at least another 3 years. This role will be remote with the potential to travel to Michigan-based sites up to once per week for meetings. Job Description: The Exhaust Systems Design Release Engineer will be responsible to design, develop and release Exhaust systems to support one or more vehicle lines for all powertrain combinations and brand differentiation requirements. The Engineer will meet system and component functional objectives for flow characteristics, durability, NVH, and back pressure, while meeting cost, weight, investment targets and addressing sharing strategy of subcomponents. Responsibilities include but limited to: Developing system DVP&R, DFMEA and function models Incorporating Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) learnings / best practices and leveraging best practices when addressing system performance specifications. Creating drawings and system validation. The Engineer will be required to interact with suppliers, Manufacturing, Purchasing and cross-functional engineering groups. Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering Degree 3+ years of engineering experience – Prior experience with automotive product development – particularly dealing with exhaust systems design and development / engineering releasing activity Preferred Requirements: Master’s degree in Engineering Engineering experience in exhaust system design and development / engineering releasing activity Green/Black Belt in Shainin or Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Knowledge of company systems and/or products NX CAD and/or Teamcenter skills Ability to read drawings and understand and apply GD&T Experience in design, releasing and development of automotive components through launch phase Understanding of exhaust systems and/or experience with Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) Experience with Advance Quality tools such as DFSS, DFMEA, DVPR, and Function Models Familiar with vehicle assembly processes Prior BAJA/Formula SAE experience Skills: Automotive, Exhaust, NVH, BAJA, SAE, NX, Product Engineer, TeamCenter, DFSS, DFMEA, DVPR, GD&T, Exhaust Systems, Noise, Vibration and Harshness À propos d’Actalent: Actalent relie la passion à la mission.
