Job Description Job Title: Product Engineer – Chassis Systems Duration: 12 months Location; Windsor, ON The Product Engineer- Chassis Systems -Steering Design Release Engineer will be responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing, and production release of Chassis components and/or systems. Other responsibilities will include but not limited to: Quality improvements, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement initiatives including communicating technical product status to management Managing program development and report status, issues and recovery plans The engineering, design, development, timing, and production release of Chassis components- specifically, electric steering systems (EPS) / steering systems and components Requirements: Chassis FRAME Requirements · Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural engineering or equivalent is required from an ABET accredited university. · Strong written/ verbal communication and interpersonal skills ·1+ years of experience with frames or similar chassis structural components · Previous experience with the design, validation and manufacturing of stamped steel components, welded assemblies, and castings is desired. · Basic understanding of Team center and NX and ability to function in those systems to support day to day responsibilities. Ability to perform basic design activities in Catia/NX/Teamcenter related to vehicle packaging and design of components. · Ability to construct system and component level DVP’s and DFMEA’s. · Must have ability to work effectively within a team environment and be able to perform job responsibilities with little supervision. · Ability to use logical thinking to construct work plans to resolve complex issues with conflicting requirements across multiple organizations. · Efficient and effective with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint) Preferred Requirements: · Master of Science degree in Engineering or MBA · Experience with robust design such as Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) · Technical understanding of virtual design of structural components – CAE for Fatigue and strength modelling. · Previous experience and knowledge of physical system testing of structural components. · Technical understanding using Acquired road load data to set up and conduct bench testing. *// Diversity, Equality, and Inclusivity This means a deep commitment to each other equally, in an open, diversified team environment.
