We are currently looking for experienced Railway Heavy Equipment Operators for our 2024 maintenance and construction season. As a Railway Operator, you will work as part of a team performing moderate to heavy physical labour, building and maintaining the track and handling surrounding materials. Duties can include replacing and repairing various track components including rails, railway ties, fences and adjusting the alignment and the surface of the track as well as responding to emergencies and track outages. Railway Operators are responsible for ensuring compliance with all REMCAN and customer safety policies and procedures. In this position you are required to demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of railway industry and heavy equipment operating. REQUIREMENTS Valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s license and ability to produce a driver’s abstract Minimum 2 years’ experience operating railway heavy equipment on-and-off track Knowledge of and recent qualification in Canadian Railway Operating Rules (CROR) Able to pass pre-employment medical which includes drug and alcohol screening Must pass eRailSafe Canada certification Able to demonstrate an ability to work unsupervised as well as in teams Able to work various shifts as required, including weekends and night shifts Able to work in various weather conditions all year round Ability and willingness to travel to remote work locations as required Maintain REMCAN safety guidelines and policies at all times REMCAN is a full service national railway contractor.
