We are searching for a Senior CNC Machining Engineering Specialist behalf of our client, a global Tier 1 automotive manufacturer of components and assemblies to the automotive and other industrial markets. This full-time, permanent reports in to North American Headquarters in the Windsor, Ontario area.(**This position can work Remote from the Greater Toronto Area or Kitchener/Waterloo Region but will have to be onsite in Windsor for meetings, launches, projects etc.**) Job Summary: As a Senior CNC Manufacturing Specialist, you will be instrumental in enhancing production processes, ensuring cost efficiency, and driving manufacturability. Your deep expertise in CNC machining, combined with strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills, will be vital to the success of our manufacturing operations. You will lead efforts in process optimization, technology implementation, cost estimation for new programs, and team development. By integrating advanced machining technologies and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, you will ensure our operations remain competitive and cutting-edge.Responsibilities: Process Optimization / Continuous Improvement Analyze and evaluate current machining processes to identify areas for efficiency improvement.Develop and implement process improvements to reduce cycle times, increase throughput, and ensure high-quality outputCreate and execute test plans using statistically designed experiments with appropriate tools.Technology and Automation Implementation Lead the evaluation, testing, selection, and implementation of advanced machining technologies, including CNC automation and equipment as well as tooling, instruments and materialsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and automation into production processes.Participate in the capital expenditure and investment process to ensure high ROI for implemented projects.Conduct reviews to assess whether projects have met their intended goals and targets.New Program Acquisition Develop and oversee accurate cost models and estimates for machining operationsProvide manufacturing solutions for new program acquisitions.Collaborate with finance and sales teams to provide competitive and realistic pricing strategies.Team Development & Collaboration: Assist and train functional teams on new processes and technologies.Work with inter-divisional teams in problem-solving and collaborative projects.Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.Foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the machining team.Reporting Structure: This position reports directly to the Director of Global Advanced Manufacturing EngineeringKPIs (Illustrative) Cost Savings: Percentage reduction in machining cycle times.Percentage reduction in scrap rate through improved process efficiency and material utilization.Technology Integration: Number of advanced machining technologies successfully implemented.Quality Metrics: Improvement in product quality and reduction in defect rates.Project Completion: Timely completion of portfolio projects related to machining process optimization.New Program Acquisition: Number of new strategic projects acquired.Successful implementation of new programs within budget and timeline constraints.Competencies / Behaviors: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively.Ability to provide direction and mentor junior engineers.Embrace change and adapt to evolving manufacturing technologies.Work well with colleagues from different disciplines (e.g., design, quality, production, and program management).Proactively identify areas for improvement and take ownership of projects and drive them to completion.Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, or a related field.Strong expertise in CNC machining processes, tooling, and programming.Familiarity with other manufacturing processes such as stamping, forging, assembly.Problem-solving using statistical methods (e.g., DOE, SPC), and experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).Proficient documentation skills in technical reports and presentationsJob Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: $100,000.00-$115,000.00 per yearBenefits:Dental careDisability insuranceExtended health careLife insuranceOn-site parkingPaid time offRRSP matchVision careFlexible language requirement:French not requiredWork Location: In person
