The Hardware Diagnostics SME is responsible for the development and validation of electric vehicle power electronics and electrified vehicle systems/devices for passenger cars and trucks. The successful candidate will develop power electronic devices DVP & R, define and carry out all required development/validation testing to ensure achievement of all functional objectives, and assure compliance to program goals and participate in supplier assessments and post-test inspection reviews, including detailed failure analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with the chosen suppliers and manufacturing entities to ensure designs are robust to customer requirements, meet exact function, and are manufactured without defect. Tested finished product for quality purposes and recommends changes to product specifications as necessary. The Hardware Diagnostics SME will define and carry out all required bench diagnostic development/validation testing to ensure achievement of all functional objectives and assure compliance to program goals per Global diagnostic requirements. The successful candidate will develop diagnostics common best practices globally for all charging powertrain commodities. Mentor and train Development powertrain engineers in OBD. Analyze OBD projects to ensure projects achieve best practice diagnostic separation performance. Drive for strategies that meet regulatory requirements while working with the hardware department to define hardware limits or constraints for OBD. Keep up-to-date with best practices across the industry and work to implement these practices across global FCA/Stellantis applications. Recommend OBD strategies and technologies to meet future global OBD requirements. Lead technical problem solving to find technical solutions to systemic challenges. Work to improve methods and processes to make OBD diagnostic controls more efficient through the use of virtual OBD development. Work with the quality department to identify top issues and develop countermeasures urgently. Provide expert technical support for production-launch calibration engineers and consultations for technical leadership for the OBD Center of Excellence teams. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Minimum FIVE (5) years’ experience in electronics and circuit design and/or development DVP&R and DFMEA creation & execution experience Understanding of Electrical Engineering standards/protocols, and of power electronics/devices Knowledge in CAN Diagnostic Protocols, CANalizer, CANoe, CANdiva, CANdela with CAPL Script Knowledge in Global OBD requirements Strong analytical, problem solving skills and thorough understanding of Power Electronics Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly motivated and self-starter Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment Legally eligible to work in Canada Preferred Qualifications: Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent 10-15 years of experience Power electronics / electrical models, simulation experience, and FEA Power electronics specifications expertise Global Diagnostics protocols expertise CAN Communication experience Design and release experience EOL plant process experience Stellantis
