The Electric Motor Controls Engineer is responsible for reviewing, approving, and prototyping software design for the electric drives sub component. This role serves as a foundation to more technical roles in the field of electric motor drives and controls. Responsibilities of the Motor Controls Engineer will be: Coordinating delivery of high level requirements from FCA internal stakeholders to external suppliers Development & execution of software requirements documents (SRD's) for electric drive subsystem based on high level system requirements Prototyping software design Interfacing with program management teams in creating supplier level software rollout plan based on vehicle features Holding detailed technical design discussions/ workshops with supplier and FCA subject matter experts Definition and development of test plans for each assigned function, according to Company standards Using FCA's tools and database to populate supplier software delivery package and ensuring its distribution to FCA's internal stakeholders according to Company defined process Supporting FCA's vehicle integration and validation teams in activities related to development, issue mitigation & root cause analysis by engaging suppliers and FCA's subject matter experts Managing supplier resident engineer and serving as technical point-of-contact for the electric drives software module for all internal external teams Participation in advanced development projects for assigned feature/sub-system Participation in Agile ceremonies for the team including DRP Sprint activities FCA Canada Inc. is committed to providing accommodation for people with accessibility needs due to disabilities in all aspects of the hiring process. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aero or equivalent Engineering degree Fundamental understanding of AC induction/PM motor controls Experience with Matlab Simulink and fluency in reading C programming language Previous educational experience in control systems and its requirements decomposition Experience in creating a positive team environment, clear direction and commitment Outstanding interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills Good teamwork skills and ability to work independently Legally eligible to work in Canada Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field Experience in executing software requirements documentation based on high level system level functional requirements Educational experience in either electric motor controls, power electronics, AC/DC drive systems or a combination Educational experience in communication protocols such as CAN/ LIN Demonstrated knowledge of DVP&R, FMEA analysis, and Software development processes Experience in Agile development methodology Stellantis
