Equivalent Experience Overview: We have partnered with a major automotive manufacturer (OEM) to support a substantial investment to develop their future line of vehicles. This project will be part of a multi-billion dollar investment to develop the electrification process of their select brands This is an excellent opportunity to get involved with both a major OEM, and electric vehicle (EV) development. This position is a hybrid-remote role based out of the company’s Research and Development Center in Windsor. This position is an open-ended contract with the program expected to go on for at least 3 years. Job Description: The Propulsion System SSTM Support is an assistant project engineer who will be supporting all integration activities and interface for all issues (cost, timing, program planning, launch support, program resolution, etc.). These are mostly electrification related activities as this team supports engine development and electrification. The responsibilities include but are not limited to: Requires skill at managing information flow and communication, and understanding the basics of the components of how they go together. This person will be representing the activities at the local Vehicle Assembly Plant, reporting back to the management and engineers in Auburn Hills, Michigan. May require some weekend work some point down the line. In an early phase of the project now and as time moves on there will be more activities going on in the physical plant itself. The early phase will be more remote work, but as time goes on there will be a need to be on-site. May require some weekend work down the line. Assist in tracking change bulletins, financial rollups, quality issues & studies, other data related issues. Requires a good knowledge of Microsoft Office/Excel. May require off-hour teleconferences and travel to local suppliers / the Vehicle Assembly Plant. Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or equivalent from an ABET accredited university Design, development, and program management experience in broad powertrain functions and/or vehicle engineering in any of the following areas: engine, transmission, driveline, packaging, adaptation, controls, or calibration Proficient in MS Office applications Need to quickly achieve understanding of the Stellantis product development processes, design validation, Key Process Indicators (KPI), and gate processes Demonstrated team building skills Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, and to work with minimal direction (ability to understand and complete next steps without guidance) The following would be considered an asset: Master of Science, particularly in Electrical Engineering Experience and understanding of the vehicle cost process Experience with the ER&D roll-up process Experience with Change Notice (CN) and Common Change Document (CCD) process Significant knowledge of the automotive industry and competitive benchmarks Multiple program life cycle experience Experience as a Resident/Quality Engineer at one or more manufacturing plants Skills: Design Release, Project Engineer, Project Manager, Electrical Engineering, Propulsion Systems, Engine Systems Why Actalent?
