As the Power Electronics (PE) Control Board Engineering — Design Release Engineer (DRE) you will have the global responsibilities for STLA's PE control board product development and research for all electric vehicle platforms which include mHEV, HEV, PHEV and BEV. The Power Electronics Control Board Engineering – DRE must be a strong systems-focused team player with interdisciplinary experience/expertise, and willing to work in a fast paced environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop cost effective and reliable PE Control Boards using cutting edge technologies, simulation tools, and test and evaluation equipment Establish and apply PE control board best practices from design to product launch, including supporting validation and testing Create, promote, and implement the global technology roadmap for PE Control Boards Support creating Component Specifications from vehicle, system and software requirements including requirements for Durability, Warranty, Safety and Performance at component level Support development of power electronic Control Board DVP&R and all required development/validation testing to ensure achievement of all functional objectives and assure compliance to program goals Participate in supplier assessments and Critical Design Reviews of PE Control Board requirements, algorithms, and deliverables Work with the chosen suppliers and manufacturing entities to ensure designs are robust to customer requirements, meet exact function, and are manufacturable without defect Participate in post-test inspection reviews including detailed failure analysis, and recommend changes to product specifications as necessary Develop/enhance PE Control Board Tools, Methods, and Test Platforms Provide subject matter expertise, mentoring, and managing problem resolution teams Work with Inverter Hardware Teams and Suppliers Work with cross-function/vehicle teams, suppliers, and universities to develop/implement advanced technologies for next generation electric vehicle technologies Maintain relevant technical documents, best practice, and sign-off documents FCA Canada Inc. is committed to providing accommodation for people with accessibility needs due to disabilities in all aspects of the hiring process.
