Job Description Lead the design and development of BOF chassis frames for various vehicle platforms, considering factors such as structural integrity, weight optimization, safety standards, and manufacturing feasibility. Collaborate closely with the Vehicle Integration, Structural Analysis, and Manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of chassis frames into the overall vehicle architecture. Utilize advanced engineering software and tools to create detailed 3D models, simulations, and prototypes to validate design concepts and assess performance. Conduct thorough engineering analysis, including finite element analysis (FEA), structural simulations, and stress testing, to ensure frames meet or exceed performance and safety requirements. Optimize chassis frame designs for weight reduction, material efficiency, and cost-effectiveness without compromising structural integrity and safety. Participate in design reviews, cross-functional team meetings, and project milestones to provide expertise, communicate progress, and address challenges. Collaborate with suppliers to source and evaluate materials and components that align with design specifications and quality standards. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in chassis frame design, integrating relevant innovations into our product development process. Support prototype builds, vehicle testing, and validation activities to ensure designs perform as intended and identify areas for continuous improvement. Document and maintain accurate design specifications, engineering drawings, and technical reports throughout the product development lifecycle. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and structural analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus). Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes related to chassis frames. Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome design challenges. Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, present findings, and drive consensus. Experience with project management methodologies and tools is a plus. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Adaptability to a fast-paced and evolving work environment. Windsor ON full-time
