Your Responsibilities This role will be located in Windsor, Ontario The Purchasing Buyer is responsible for the strategic and tactical management of Supplier agreements. The Purchasing Buyer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and pursuing the tactical projects in the areas of Capital equipment management for both asset purchases and leases, company- wide vendor/ contract relationships and centrally led supplier management. The Purchasing Buyer ensures that all programs are designed to fulfill the objectives of the company and that program related expenses are managed responsibly. Primary Responsibilities: Provides tactical oversight of all purchases made, which may include those made by other individuals in areas like supplies, MRO, packaging, temp agency services etc. Responsible for the ongoing management, negotiation, and administration of assigned agreements including but not limited to equipment, MRO and services agreements. Responsible for the continuous evaluation of potential opportunities for new or improved program and vendor contracts. This involves conducting all necessary needs analysis and identification, market research, vendor reviews, vendor selections, program recommendation, program negotiation, contract development, and program communication and implementation. Optimizes price, delivery, and terms. Identifies potential suppliers and issues requests for quotations. Analyzes and selects suppliers. Create and nurture commercial relations with Suppliers and internal Stakeholders Be an agent for change and continuously challenge the status quo Present savings opportunities to executive management team setting targets, tracking and reporting Lead and execute Supplier negotiations and Request for Quotations (RFQs) Manage Direct and or Indirect procurement, spend and purchasing Maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers Independently and confidently managing negotiations to support business requirements Executing and supporting new customer / facility launches as required Assist in the management of Supplier relationships, execute contracts, develop RFQ packages, and provide analytical support for analysis of proposals to ensure best value for purchased materials / services Your Profile Required Qualifications: Associates Degree in Business or Supply Chain or equivalent combination of education & experience 3+ years Procurement experience and supplier management Ability in presenting and interacting with Executive Management Ability to multi-task (able to track, manage, and execute on identified strategy) Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) Excellent time management skills to function independently under pressure or in a team environment Ability to travel to tkSCS sites if required Must work in accordance with the Continuous Improvement Values.
