Summary of Position The Director of Youth Services and Administration is a Senior Member of the DTM’s Management Team. The Director plans, implements, and evaluates services and programs of the Windsor Youth Services and leads the Organization’s Administration areas including Human Resources, Accreditation, Health and Safety and others as required. They lead The Windsor Youth Centre Program with a deep understanding of the issues surrounding youth at risk, youth living in poverty, youth experiencing mental health or substance abuse issues and insight into the delivery of services to individuals who are vulnerable. They lead the Organization’s HR and Health and Safety Teams with the DTM’s efforts to keep up their Accreditation Status with Imagine Canada and play a critical role in the leadership of and the strategic planning for the Org. They establish and promote a respectful working relationship with all, is a good representative of the Organization and promotes the same with all. Education · Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Psychology, Social Services, Community Services, or other related field, CHRP designation or equivalent · Time Management, NVCI, CPR/First Aid, HR Management, Mental Health First Aid (preferred) Knowledge and Experience Required · Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role · Minimum of 2 years in the non-profit sector serving at-risk youth · Knowledge of creating and managing a Budget · Knowledge of at-risk youth, youth homelessness and community resources · Knowledge of concurrent mental health disorders, substance abuse as well as treatment and resources including approaches to recovery · Knowledge of workplace safety standards, implementation and assessment · Knowledge of Imagine Canada’s Accreditation Process (preferred) · Knowledge of HIFIS and Rent Smart (preferred) · Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality deliverables on time Skills and Qualities Required · Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively lead a team · Excellent oral and written communication skills · Ability to think critically to resolve issues, solve problems and mediate · Ability to develop and build relationships and collaborate with others · Ability to promote individual development and a healthy, supportive team · Ability to work with, lead and encourage a diverse team Other Requirements · Valid Driver’s License with clean Driver’s Abstract · Experience with using Office 365 Suite Duties and Responsibilities Leadership of The Windsor Youth Centre o Provide oversight of all Youth Programs working with the Youth Services Manager to ensure all youth served receive the pertinent service in an effective and safe manner o Develop and enhance relationships with Community Resources, Partners and Stakeholders, leveraging them to positively impact the outcomes of the youth we serve o Ensure all program and contractual deliverables are met and maintained, including but not limited to generating program reports to funders and internal/external stakeholders o Create operational plans, implement and evaluate effectiveness o Review program policy, procedures and staff/volunteer/client guidelines on a regular basis to ensure relevance and compliance Leadership of Human Resources Team and Initiatives o Provide oversight of HR Team and Efforts o Provide Team Leadership to and support for Management Team or others as needed o Ensure all confidentiality is preserved as required for the Organization and by Industry Standards o Foster an Organizational Environment of high ethical and service standards, professional competence, sensitivity to clients and team engagement o Ensure Staff are up-to-date with external/internal training requirements o Promote professional development of Team Members o Ensure diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility throughout Organization o Lead Annual Performance Review process Leadership of Health and Safety Team and Initiatives o Ensure the Organization itself and its Team Members are committed to providing a safe workplace for all who are involved with our mission to provide a place of sanctuary and hope in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, regulations and other applicable legislation o Promote a culture of safety by leading the H&S Team through Quarterly Meetings and Monthly Inspections o Provide opportunities for H&S Team Training and opportunities for H&S development/training for all Staff o Ensure all OHSA required trainings are completed and recorded on time o Ensure all reports are kept in a manner consistent with OHSA requirements o Educate Staff Team as to their responsibilities and rights Leadership of Accreditation Efforts o Ensure complete and timely submission of Imagine Canada Standards Applications and Annual Reports as relevant o Lead relevant Team Members (Staff and Board) in the accurate completion of relevant Reports within the 5 areas Accreditation – Governance, Fundraising, Financial Accountability, Human Resources and Volunteer Management o Encourage and promote the importance of maintaining Accreditation within and throughout the Organization Develop professional relationship with Imagine Canada Staff and Peer Advisors Staff Management · 10-15 full and part-time staff Job Type: Full-time Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year Experience: Human resources management: 1 year (required) Leadership: 1 year (required) Licence/Certification: First Aid Certification (required) Work Location: In person
