Job Purpose Zgemi is looking for a Site Coordinator who can work near our Windsor job site, which is a multi-storey building. The Site Coordinator assists in successfully executing construction projects by ensuring the efficient and effective coordination of the construction field level. They work closely with the Site Supervisor, contractors, and stakeholders to coordinate and oversee day-to-day activities to keep the project on track, safe and within budget through effective communication, adherence to project schedules and budgets, and compliance with quality and safety standards. Duties & Responsibilities · The Site Coordinate will assist the Site Supervisor in coordinating construction activities, equipment, and crew. · Oversee day-to-day activities at the site to ensure work is conducted according to drawings, specifications, and safety guidelines while managing and organizing project plans, specifications, costs, material estimates, and subcontract-related reports. · Develop, monitor, and update construction work schedules. · Maintaining accurate cost control plans through inputting daily completion units and material packing slips. · Coordinate the procurement of construction materials, ensuring timely deliveries and accurate purchase orders. · Calculate productivity and material yields for accurate reporting. · Arrange and conduct necessary construction field services. · Keep detailed Daily Project Reports using the application Site Docs and according to COR standards. · Take on additional tasks as required. Working Conditions · Standard 50-hour workweek and weekend shifts based on operational needs. · Work from a construction site trailer on the job site (In Leamington, Belle River or within the proximity of Windsor’s surrounding cities) · Exposure to typical construction environment elements, including heavy equipment, oncoming traffic, and varying weather conditions. SCs are expected to follow safety protocols, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. · Communicate with various stakeholders, including the site’s internal team, subcontractors, suppliers, and workers. Effective communication is crucial for the job. · Fast-paced and high-pressure, especially when facing tight deadlines or unexpected issues. Qualifications & Skills Required · Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology/Technician with 2-3 years of related Canadian job site experience. · A strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and terminology is essential. Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and industry standards is also advantageous. · Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies is essential. Familiarity with project management software and tools (such as MS Office 365, Projects, Planswift, AutoCAD, etc..) can also be beneficial in effectively planning, organizing, and controlling project activities. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills are vital for effective coordination and collaboration with project stakeholders, team members, and contractors. The ability to convey information, listen actively, and resolve conflicts diplomatically. · Strong organizational skills are necessary to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work effectively, and meet project deadlines. Attention to detail and managing documentation and project files efficiently are crucial. · Ability to analyze information and problems, identify viable solutions, and make timely decisions.
