Bridging North America (BNA), a partnership of Fluor, ACS Infrastructure Canada and Aecon Group Inc., is seeking candidates for the Gordie Howe International Bridge project. BNA was selected to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the CAD$5.7 billion (approximate US$4.4 billion) Gordie Howe International Bridge project for Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA). When completed, the bridge will be the longest cable-stayed bridge in North America. The project includes a bridge and border crossing spanning the Detroit River and connecting Detroit, Michigan, U.S., and Windsor, Ontario, Canada, by linking Interstate 75 and Interstate 96 in Michigan with the new extension of Highway 401 (Rt. Hon. Herb Gray Parkway) in Ontario. The scope also includes building new, state-of-the-art ports of entry on both the U.S. and Canadian sides of the Detroit River as well as improvements to existing infrastructure in both Michigan and Ontario. This position will be reporting to directly Lead Electrical Engineer and support the overall execution of Electrical Systems for Gordie Howe International Bridge project. This is a primarily coordination role directly supporting Construction Contractors for Electrical scope ensuring compliance with requirements of relevant codes in the province of Ontario. Responsibilities/Scope of Work 1. Work with sub-contractors driving compliance with all quality control, testing and deliverable requirements of OPSS 106 General Specification for Electrical Work for all electrical work on the Bridge and within Canada. Support sub-contractor with providing solutions for meeting the requirements. 2. Witness installation, inspection, testing, and verify the test results for the minimum of the following electrical work according to the appropriate specification prior to issuing a certificate of conformance 3. Develop an electrical Commissioning Plan for each electrical supply component (or group of components): transformers, switchgears, transfer switches, UPS systems, lighting contactors, calibration of overload protections, generators including power outage simulation, power distribution panels, cable testing, grounding impedance measurements, soil resistivity, and power monitoring equipment 4. Develop an electrical Commissioning Plan proving the Overall Project Electrical Network performance according to the Technical Requirements 5. Develop a SOW and manage the scope of a specialized Electrical firm appointed to produce a Report for Short circuit calculation, arc flash study and coordination study for the entire electrical distribution system. 6. Work with the sub-contractors ensuring they are ordering the minimum required electrical hazard identification labels for each piece of distribution system equipment, and PPE for Electrical Systems. 7. Work with Project Procurement team ordering electrical equipment and bulks as necessary Special Conditions contractors and coordination meetings 2. Required to spend about 50% of time in the field witnessing work of Electrical installation sub-contractor ensuring compliance with requirements of relevant electrical codes for the province of Ontario. Being able to carry out construction site visits and spend periods of time outdoors in construction environments 3. Commitment to provide continuous support to the project through duration of execution phase endDec2024 4. Licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario with a degree in Electrical Engineering 2. Understanding of requirements for lightning protection system design and installation of project facilities lightning protection system in order to obtain a UL listed system. Lightning protection equipment shall meet CAN/CSA-B72-M87 (R2013) Preferred Qualifications 1. Preferred experience in roadways and building construction 2.
