Job Title: Apprenticeship Program Coordinator Department: Training and Development Reports to: Manager of Education and Training Classification: Salary Band 5 – $50,000.00 – $62,500.00 Location: Windsor, Ontario Job Type: Full-Time – Permanent Hours: 37.5 Date Posted: July 22, 2024 Job Summary: The Apprenticeship Program Coordinator is responsible for developing and delivering learning programs to apprentices to improve their overall skills and Red Seal trades competencies. This role involves coordinating events, developing educational materials, and overseeing and maintaining a scheduling system for the virtual reality (VR) simulators and other program equipment. The coordinator plays a crucial role in fostering a successful apprenticeship experience and supporting the organization’s mission to promote skill development and workforce readiness for apprentices. Key Responsibilities: Ensure that all aspects of projects are organized and in conformance with timelines and deliverables requirements. Develop and deliver the Apprentice Incubator and VR on Wheels Program. Develop and maintain a scheduling system to oversee and manage project equipment, including VR simulators, and schedule usage for external parties. Attend events to represent the organization and oversee the setup and operation of program equipment. Create and update educational resources to support current and new apprenticeship initiatives. Collaborate with industry partners, unions, educators, and community organizations to enhance apprenticeship program offerings and resources. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making improvements as necessary based on feedback and assessments. Provide support and guidance to apprentices, ensuring a positive and productive learning experience. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education: Required: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Program Management, or Skilled Trade Certificate/ Red Seal Certification. Experience: Required: Minimum 3 years of experience in program coordination, education, community outreach and/or skilled trades. Knowledge of skilled trades. Serving a diverse client group, including women and gender-diverse individuals, persons with Disabilities, Black, Indigenous, racialized communities, and 2SLGBTQ+. Familiarity with diversity and inclusion practices and gender diversity initiatives. Skills: Excellent organizational and project management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities skills. Ability to form strong community partnerships and knowledge of community resources. Creative thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with virtual event platforms. You are willing to learn and work with new online systems and technologies. Excellent presentation and facilitation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Working Conditions: The Apprenticeship Incubator Program Coordinator will work in a dynamic, collaborative environment, primarily based in Windsor, Ontario. The role requires regular attendance at events, which may involve travel within Canada. Some evening and weekend work may be necessary to accommodate program schedules.
