The Power Electronics Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be responsible for the activities related to Power Electronics components (inverters, converters, chargers, power semiconductor devices, DC Laminated Bus, and DC Link Capacitors) specific to the Electrified Vehicle application. This position entails working with power electronics suppliers to ensure corporate requirements and specifications, as well as industry best practice design features and processes, are implemented for manufacturing, assembly, reliability, etc. This position involves the evaluation, simulation and testing of supplier’s component design, to ensure the compatibility with the STLA requirement. This position plays a major role in the functional specification of electronic components in the source package and is involved actively during the development phase of the vehicle as a hardware technical expert of the component. Additionally, this position will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of documentation outlining best practices supporting STLA internal continuous improvement initiatives and the development of product technology roadmaps. Basic Qualifications: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering Minimum EIGHT (8) years of hands-on design/evaluation experience of power electronics components such as power semiconductor modules, HV DC capacitors, Current and Voltage sensors, DC laminated bus, related to EV Propulsion, Charging, and DC/DC Converter applications (specifically within an automotive context) Minimum FIVE (5) years of experience in testing of HV power electronics devices (Si/SiC power devices) and components for power converters Working level knowledge of power electronics analysis and simulations tools (LTSPICE, MATLAB, MATHCAD) Working level knowledge of DVP&R and DFMEA Good analytical and problem solving skills Highly motivated and self-starter Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment Ability to interface professionally with key customers, cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management Strong verbal and written communication skills Able to manage multiple responsibilities, one’s own time while being mindful of deadlines, must be task oriented, detail oriented, and accurate with work Understanding of system requirements and standards specific to NA, EMEA and APAC markets Experience in thermal modeling, simulations, analysis and thermal management of power electronics components and systems Thorough understanding of power electronics components/systems development process from concept through launch Legally eligible to work in Canada Preferred Qualifications: Degree in Electrical Engineering OR TEN (10) years of experience in high voltage/high power/electric vehicle environments/power electronics modeling and simulation experience Understanding in Electric Motor Drives design and performance evaluations Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design, fabrication and manufacturing knowledge Ability to understand and evaluate circuit schematics analog circuits performances Stellantis
