WINDSOR POLICE SERVICE announces openings for INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST Compensation: Approx. $74,000/year QUALIFICATIONS: Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada; Community College Diploma (2 or 3 years) in a Computer Systems Technician/Technology related discipline, including coursework related to IT hardware and software support, or University Degree in Computer Science; Must have comprehensive knowledge of and experience with implementing, supporting and troubleshooting hardware, software, printers, peripherals, and mobile devices; Must have general knowledge and experience with networking concepts; Must have exceptional customer service skills; Must possess strong problem solving and problem management skills; Must be able to effectively manage multiple technical initiatives independently and as a part of a team; Previous experience in a helpdesk environment would be considered an asset; Basic coding / scripting experience would be considered an asset; A+ Certification and similar would be considered an asset; Minimum of 1 – 2 years relevant work experience in a computer related discipline. HOURS OF WORK: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Selected candidates must be able to show proof of Covid-19 full vaccination or proof of approved medical or religious/creed exemption in order to participate in the interview process. Additional requirements include successful completion of a thorough background investigation and pre-employment medical.
