We are looking, on behalf of our client, a Tier 1 Automotive Manufacturer of Injection Moulded components, located in the Windsor Region, for an experienced Director, North American Operations to organize and oversee the sales and operations of the client’s company. The Director, North American Operations will be the one to ensure that the business is well-coordinated and productive by managing its procedures and coaching its people. Accountable for driving long-term sales and profitability growth for North America, through development and execution of strategic growth plans. They will oversee key North America division functions (e.g. sales, finance, quality and operations). The area of responsibility for this role is very wide and thus requires thorough knowledge of various company processes. The ideal candidate must be competent and able to plan many kinds of operational (Sales and Operations) activities. He/She must be an excellent leader who can instill and lead the organization regarding the most efficient ways to run the business. The goal is to safeguard and augment the efficiency of the company’s operations to facilitate accelerating development and long-term success. Responsibilities Liaise with the Senior Management Team to make decisions for operational/Sales related activities and set strategic Production and Sales goals Assists in formulating and executing strategic and organizational plans for the North America business Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of business to ensure smooth progress Supervise staff from different departments and provide constructive feedback Regularly evaluate the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements Create sustainable capabilities by identifying continuous improvement opportunities and leading the execution of these initiatives Frequent coordination with counterparts in other regions to problem solve and execute on the plan Oversee customer support processes and organize them to enhance customer satisfaction Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability Revise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation Manage relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics Ensure that the company runs with legality and conformity to established regulations Requirements and skills Proven experience as Director of Operations or equivalent position In-depth experience working within the Automotive Industry is a requirement Excellent organizational and leadership abilities Outstanding communication and people skills Knowledge of the Automotive Industry’s legal rules and guidelines In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g. Finance, Customer Service, Quality, Sales, Operations, Client relations etc.) Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics, working with Sales and Operational Budgets are a requirement Familiarity with MS Office and various business software (e.g. ERP, CRM) BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus Ability to converse fluently in Spanish would be considered an asset Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Benefits: Disability insurance Extended health care Life insurance Vision care Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday Education: Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) Experience: Sales and Operations Management: 5 years (preferred) Automotive Industry: 5 years (preferred) Work Location: One location Show more Report
