About the role An exciting opportunity has opened up within our EMEAA Design & Engineering team. We are looking for a Design Manager on a permanent basis to provide dedicated architectural and design support. You will be driving the design in our hotels to achieve operational efficiency and brand defining hotels to enable growth across our portfolio. You will be comfortable advising and reporting on hotel properties and projects to ensure any hotels entering the IHG system conform to brand standards, and requirements. A large part of this role is to ensure hotel projects are designed in line with IHG and industry best practice and support the relevant IHG brand values and positioning. To achieve this you will provide advice and support to existing hotels, helping them improve, develop and enhance their design and layout as requested. One of your strengths is to be able to advise clients on the best and most cost-effective design solution to create an efficient hotel compliant with the relevant standards. Combining a creative and commercial approach to deliver for our Owners. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for individual hotel projects, liaise with internal and external teams and report on a timely basis progress of projects. To receive, visit and report on property details including compliance with brand standards, fire/life safety standards and good practice. New Hotel Development – Manage the process of reviewing potential hotel projects in line with IHG Brand Standards and design guidelines including concept design, documentation, and inspections, as well as the pre-opening inspections. Brand Execution – Manages the process for new builds, conversions, and refurbishments to include on site evaluations and execution of PIP plans. Ensures that quality of work and standards are followed and maintained at all properties to protect integrity/image of brands. Understand owner investment goals and deals constraints to deliver creative and commercial solutions for each deal. Works closely with Engineering and Brand Safety function within the region Working alongside the Design & Engineering team to produce Reviews, PIPs, BSRs as well as pitch presentations with best-in-class documentation. Ensure the provision of support to owners as per the Technical Services Agreement throughout the project lifespan. Communicate key decisions including cost impact, resource, dateline, and brand compliance to internal & external stakeholders. Delivery of our Global Journey to Tomorrow and sustainability agenda into each project. What we're looking for University degree/diploma in Architecture, Construction and/or Project Management Minimum 5 years of experience in design, construction, and project management in a multi-national company in a service branded environment Strong knowledge of architecture, design, and construction principles with an understanding of applicable laws Culturally sensitive and team oriented with outstanding influencing and networking skills Flexible interpersonal style Effective communication Strong influencing skills Project management expertise AutoCAD user to proficient standard Strong analytical skills with attention to detail What we offer At IHG we give our colleagues greater flexibility and balance – working in a more hybrid way, blending remote and office working.
