Program Director

A Program Director is needed for a fast pace and team-oriented environment where lives are transformed. The House of Sophrosyne is an addiction treatment agency that specializes in supporting women and families who are struggling with addictions. In support of the mission and mandate of the House of Sophrosyne, the Program Director assists the functions of the Board and the Executive Director in implementing the organization’s strategic directions, goals and objectives. The Program Director is a member of the management team and is responsible for clinical staff supervision, overseeing quality of care of all clients and the delivery of programs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the agencies’ programs and
  • Assist in the hiring, orientation, training and supervision of caseworkers, counselors, childcare workers and student placements in compliance with legislative requirements, the collective agreement and agency
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on programs and
  • Approve and monitor program expenses within budgetary
  • Complete scheduling and performance evaluations for all supervised
  • Ensure the staff complies with best practice and quality
  • Ensure scope of practice and ethical guidelines are
  • Represent the agency on various committees and planning tables. Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. Master’s degree in Social Work is
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of mental health and
  • Management experience in related
  • Experience in program development and quality
  • Knowledge of accreditation and implementation of best
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an
  • Empathetic and engaging; listens well; is responsive and solution
  • Strong communication, relationship management and interpersonal
