Rashmi is a unique artist who has displayed multi faceted artistic qualities; in a short period of time, she has developed expertise in many forms of visual art, including practices ranging from textile design, to painting, sculpture, and iconography. She not only believes in the utility of multi-disciplinary practices, but also in the celebration of multiculturalism. Something she is unafraid to express in her work. She has presented and displayed her art at the Arts Council of Windsor and Region, Artcite Inc., Windsor Farmer’s market, and on many other occasions and fundraisers for community organizations including at hospitals and public libraries. Since 2000, Rashmi has held annual Art exhibitions both solo and jointly with artists in Windsor. Rashmi is well-known and respected within our community for her artistic contributions and her extensive public outreach. Indeed, her unique paintings, icons, and stained glass sculptures have permeated Windsor and serve as time stamps of over a decade of artistic evolution and progress. On a more personal level, Rashmi is a mature self-taught artist and who has had limited formal education or training in Canada, while Rashmi has had substantial exposure to the “practical” and content-based aspects of her art work, both in Canada and India.
