We are looking for artists to submit their work for an exhibition of winter and holiday-themed creative designs to transform street furniture (benches and waste receptacles) in the city centre for the holidays through artistic and architectural creativity.

Designs should not rely on changing the existing structure in any way, even by structurally fastening. The designs must be able to be displayed apart from the street furniture and serve as a visual anchor for the installations.

Work Size

Along with a proposal that details your concept and desired art installation, include a digital image, rendering, or illustration.

Sample Requirements:

1. Cover letter describing exhibition proposal.
2. Digital images in the range of 2–4 should be supplied in JPEG format at a resolution of 300 dpi, or around a 4′′ × 6′′ image size.
3. Artist resume including biography, educational background and exhibition record, if applicable.

Timeline

November 15, 2022 – January 15, 2023

Selection Process & Notification to Artist

A jury will review the entries and select the artists. Successful proponents will be notified by email within a week of the submission deadline.

Accepted Artwork: Digital concept works that meets the objective of transforming street furniture or creating winter-themed sidewalk art pieces will be accepted. Following selection, successful artists will receive an honourarium which will cover artist’s fees, materials/supplies and installation.
